Have you ever been asked by an airline on the way to Thailand or at immigration at the airport in Thailand for a bank statement to see if you have enough funds?

Is a print out of current bank statements(day of departure from USA) acceptable as proof of monetary funds requirement to enter Thailand

with tourist visa exemption?

Coming from Canada on a 30- day,Visa Exemption stay, can my $750.00 ( converted toThai baht before leaving) be shown in cash to the Immigration officer or is a bank statement needed;. if a bank statement, please provide detailed info.One month, 2 month, balance only, debits/credits shown?

Due to a clerical error on my part my 60 day tourist visa app. was cancelled 15 days before my scheduled flight departure, not leaving me enough time to re-apply. I'm understandably nervous about doing something wrong if I decide to go the Visa Exemption route.Thanks for all of the info provided on this site.

Does the requirement of 20k baht cash on arrival still stand if entering on the non o based on family ?

I've read several times about a 20,000 Baht requirement when entering Thailand. Is that for specific Visas?

If it only applies to specific Visas, do Immigration Officers always ask about it, or is it at the discretion of individual Officers?

Is one supposed to have that can to pay for accommodation, transport and spending, or what specifically is the reason?

I visited Thailand for the first time last October (only overseas holiday apart from a quick 5 night visit to The Philippines over a decade ago), on what I now understand to be known as "Visa Exempt". I wasn't asked upon entry to Thailand how much money, cash or otherwise, I had available or with me for my holiday. I had booked my accommodation online in advance. I am intending to return to Thailand to visit my Thai ladyfriend in November this year and wonder if that 20k requirement is something that I need to take into account.

Tried to do the Ranong - Mayanmar boder bounce today. Luckily before I got stamped out, the immigration officer told me I must make sure that I have the three requisites ready for when I return, else they won't allow me back.

1. Proof of paid accommodation for the entire stay

2. Proof of leaving Thailand within the 30 days

3. 20000THB in CASH, no bank books or statements or other currency's, MUST be Thai Baht, in Cash.

People with multiple entry visas in the queue in front of me was advised that even with a valid visa, they are not guaranteed entry if the officer feels otherwise.

It is just too much of how a specific officer feels than what the rules state.

It was too mich of a gamble to be stuck in war-torn mayanmar, will do a flight to Malaysia during the week

Hello when does the obligation to have 20000 baths in cash on arrival apply ? I have entered Thailand on visa exemption, OA visa and O visa and was never asked to show proof I had that much money with me. Thanks !

For those seeking tourist visas in Phnom Penh, I just came back from Thai Embassy and several people in front of me were denied for not being able to show the 20 thousand THB req. I was not seeking a TR visa, so I have no further details, but just a heads up.

P.s. In the snippets of conversation I overheard, they appeared to want bank statements.
