TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among commenters is that while it may technically be possible to split the required 800,000 baht for a retirement visa between two banks, it is not recommended due to the potential complications involved. Immigration officers may require extensive documentation from each bank, including 12 months of statements and updated bank books on the day of your application. This could complicate the process and may lead to increased waiting times and frustration with immigration officials. Most advice leans towards keeping the full amount in one bank for simplicity.

I'm guessing you have your reasons for wanting to do this but I would certainly advise against it. Even if this were permitted, it would create a headache for the immigration officer dealing with it and they could arbitrarily decide its not allowed because they don't want to deal with it. And unfortunately there isn't much you could do about it. You can't simply ask for the manager or their supervisor. They will tell you to go and simply ignore you if you don't.

Stephen Howell they didn't reject mine. I applied for a renewal. If first time application then 800,000 baht in, but can be removed after the appropriate time.

I'm not sure why you would want to do that. As others here have mentioned, you will be going to all your banks on the day of your visa renewal to obtain all the statements and update all your bank books and pay each bank their fee. Not sure it's worth the hassle.

Not recommended…depending on your choice of immigration location you may have to visit all your banks on the same day as your immigration appointment to obtain statements.

And to what end ?

I know someone that did this but they had to get the letter & statements from each bank so it was more bother than it was worth. The rules might have changed but it used to be OK

As usual, Facebook gives you every possible answer, and you have to choose which are complete rubbish, and ignore those who think it's their business to ask why. I can think of several possible reasons, but clearly not everyone can.

If all the accounts are in your name I don't see why not but you're not going to be popular with immigration as you are going to have to produce 12 months of statements & bank letters for all of the accounts, plus update all the bank books on the day you visit the immigration office to apply for your extension

0 baht minimum. 4600 baht extra interest. I agree the reconciliation process and printing off statements and pissing off the IO may be an issue. Again I pay too much for an agent every year when I should do the visa myself.

Ronnie Staff if you have the money in the bank, why do you need an agent? It is easy to do it by yourself.

Maybe may be not. But it will make getting all the correct bank documents together much more difficult and give the IO a real headache which is never a good idea.
