Correct, in general when you find a public page and you have a “real” problem resolution is definitely better and quicker. Companies don’t like bad press on Social Media they know it can essentially kill business if it goes even a little viral
I live in Saraburi, and I just had a Thai friend visit the USA, my home country and it took her 7 months to get a tourist visa. The same thing and situation absolutely no desire to move to America. 
Actually, I was in Ban Pong and the debit machine or ATM machine ate my card at the bank and they couldn’t retrieve it or wouldn’t retrieve it so I had to get a new one.  And yes, it is inconvenient.
