I have found lots of useful information on this site and want to pose my first question. I send money to a Thai bank account each month for rent etc and have used Western Union. This month there has been a significant delay in transfer so I have registered to a Wise account. I am sending from UK. Wise offer 2 options - sending via bank transfer or using a debit card. There seem to be pros and cons to both. Does anyone have experience or advice of which method to use?

I'm a Canadian returning to Thailand

Lst time in Thailand one of the ATM machines ate my debit card and I could not get it back from the bank That owns the Atm

My bank will not give me a backup card and using a credit card is very expensive

I see that some people suggest a wise card but they charge 1.75% on each transaction

Does anybody have a solution to how to get money out inexpensively if you lose your debit card

Wise multi currency card - just received an email that this product is finally available to Canadians. I love Wise - I use for transfers to Thailand, saves me bringing wads of cash or incurring big ATM fees. Just wondering how useful this card would be?

Does anyone have an idea whether it’s possible for a visitor to open a bank account MasterCard or Visa card in Thailand as tourist?

Maybe a very stupid question, but I have to clarify in other to not get in trouble... Is there ATM available to deposit cash after passing the immigration counter? I may or may not pay a fine and don't want to bring cash to my country.
