just FYI I just looked at my Thai D/L and they used my Pink ID Card number and not my passport number

This means I don’t have to update it when I get a new passport

It’s not as worthless as you say it is

As far as I know it has to be in 1 acct seasoned for the mandatory timeframe

You could apply for an APEC card and see if you can get a better rate on import/export duties

It’s worth a try

they will still stamp you in 60 days at a time on the visa free stamp

Depending on your passport country you might get 60 days on each visa exemption stamp.

So not a problem at all

That ID has a purpose and a place plus it has your address on it with a recognized Thai ID number
