state certified copies mean nothing to local Ampurs in Thailand. Check with the local ampur and ask them what they need. If they need said certified copies of your divorce papers then you have to take them to embassy for them to stamp. It may also require the US State department stamp as well. Just like any document leaving Thailand that needs to be certified legal in any other country must go through the Thailand MFA after the local ampur has stamped it. I have just done the marriage back in November and doing the opposite now to use our marriage certificate in the US with SSA and VA. Oh and your divorce papers will need to be translated and stamped by MFA if your local ampur actually requires them.
