I’m considering a retirement visa. Currently in Thailand on a 60 day stamp until Jan 18. I don’t really want to stay in Thailand more than 180 days a year and likely would want to enter and leave 3 - 4 times a year, but also usually leave and return during those stays for a holiday outside of Thailand with my gf. So far I’ve just been getting passport stamps. They have started to ask more questions and hesitate sometimes on the past few entries. I do have $800k in Bangkok Bank for several years. I’m staying with gf now in Tha Bunmi area of Chonburi. We got a TM - 30 filed recently. Unfortunately the address was entered 90 rather than 99 when they registered the place i’m staying. Staying with gf in a room she gets as manager of a factory. Asked them to try and fix the registration address. Flight out of Thailand Feb 17, so would file for a 30 day extension, or should I try to get a Non O retirement visa early next week at Jomtien? Maybe I won’t really be here long enough to get an actual 1 year retirement visa? Apply for a Non 0 the next time I come to thailand? I get more confused the more i read

Hello,

I need your advice....This year is my second year I come to Thailand on a Multiple Entry Tourist (MTV) visa. Last year when I arrived at the BKK airport I wasn't asked any questions in terms of why I'm visiting and what I'll do in Thailand for the duration of my visa. However, this is my second year to come to Bangkok and they asked me a lot of questions. Basically, WHY I come so often and WHAT I do here.

Has anyone recently experienced over questioning by the airport immigration officers and if they did what do you suggest I do next time because I have to re-enter in a few weeks and I don't want to be denied my entry even though my MTV will still be valid?

hello! Question about border runs - my 6 month Muay Thai visa is coming to an end on March 15th - before the Muay Thai visa in 2023 i had flown in from USA, and did extensions and 2 border runs -

My question is, can i do a border run now after my Muay Thai education visa ends?

Update - a land based border run service said i will have no issues. Have to pay extra 1k bhat for IO to “cut” my ED visa at the border

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS;

There's a reason we don't do posts like "what airport is easy entry", "what consulate is easy for xxx visa" "what land border is soft touch", or "will I get in". .. ... :(

That's because those posts are about as worthless as tits on a tomcat as far as really helping anyone..

Unless someone has the same nationality, same entry/stay history, AND gets the same immigration officer when you stamp in it's anyone's guess how it will go for YOU when you stamp in (that goes for airports and land entry)

AND

It's the same thing at consulates getting visas. They look at entry/stay history, nationality, the way you meet the requirements, etc.

With that being said as far as AIR ENTRY, if you have an extensive entry/stay history AVOID Suvarnabhumi / Don Mueang <- especially if you've been living here on back to back free 30 day stamps/extensions and or have a b/s ED visa or equally b/s Volunteer visa in your passport (even if it's cancelled and you're not entering on it).

Those two airports deny HUNDREDS of people a week and ship them back to where they just flew in from and/or back to the country of passport origin (if they think it's time for you to go home :O )

It is not that we don't want to be helpful, it's that we want to give you accurate info and those "How is xxx" questions can't be answered accurately AT ALL.

I stayed with 2 tourist visa in row in this year.

6 months in Thailand.

I am planning to go back to my country after my tourist visa end on June.

But I have a medical appointment on August .

Do u think they would allow me to entry with visa on arrival 14 days after one month ?

I havent seen any one talk about being turned away doing a land border run due previous visa/visit history.. Is this a possibility?

Not sure if my history would be questioned but this is it:

I am a USA citizen.. Over the past 12 months I have used one tourist visa (only stayed for 30 days of this) and 3 visa exempt entries and I have extended 3 times But only actually stayed for two of the extensions. Ive always spent a month or more out side of Thailand before returning.

Im currently in my home country and have a Tourist visa to be used next week.. Just wondering what my options are if I choose to spend more time after the visa expires.

I'm currently in Vietnam and plan on getting a 60 day Thai tourism visa. I've already spent 10+ months in Thailand and have a passport full of Covid extensions. I've heard that immigration can be quite difficult at BKK Airport for people that have already been in Thailand for a good amount of time on the visa exempt stamp / Covid visa. My question is, does that worry still exist if I already have obtained the tourism visa from the Thai consulate?

If i were to visit my home country and do my visa run there for an education visa for advanced Thai language course, is it possible for me to have problems at immigration upon re-entry?

Background info:

- Australian passport

- Been in Thailand since Sep. 2017

- Was using tourist visas for about 1y 3m until Immigration gave me a warning at DMK after a visa run to KL.

- So I got an Non-Immigrant Education visa

- After my 9mth. beginners thai lang. course I would like to move up to the advanced thai lang. course which requires a visa run

- Looking to visit home (🇦🇺) in approx. 3months and do my visa run at the same time

- Looking to fly direct from Kuala Lumpur KUL to Surat Thani URT on return trip to Thailand.

Is there a chance I may be denied entry even though I have a proper visa? Im not working in the country but I am mainly here for boxing.

Ive heard about immigration also questioning/testing your thai language capabilities, has anyone had this experience?

Thank you in advance for any advice! 🙂🙏🏽
