That should work for the airline but probably wouldn’t work when you’re standing in front of an Immigration Officer.

An onward ticket from one of the websites is $15US or less.

Every Thai Embassy has the list of jobs reserved for Thais. You have to look for it but it’s there. All visa requirements are there as well.

You’re a lucky guy. The airline has asked me half the time. Last October, Immigration asked to see my onward ticket at Phuket Airport. I’m glad I had one.

Buy a real onward ticket that gets automatically cancelled before the flight date for around $25US from onwardticket.com or a competing site.

Nobody is saying not to have an apartment. They are saying don’t tell the IO you have an apartment. Tourists don’t sign one year leases on an apartment.
