Is your e-visa a Non 0? They need a map of where you are staying, owners ID card, electric or water bill etc. Go visit them at the main office and ask for the requirements handout . Easy people to deal with .

Americans aren’t eligible for a visa on arrival and you can’t get a Non OA while in Thailand. This is basic stuff get a visa agent

99.9% they won’t ask for any money to be shown unless you have an extensive history in Thailand and they want a reason to deny you entry.

 that’s the main reason I can guess. Some documents from Bangkok bank for example remittance advice can only come from the home branch I was told
