I have an extension of stay based on retirement(so called retirement visa).

How can I switch to a LTR? Just apply for the LTR and when it’s approved exit Thailand without a reentry permit on my Non O extension?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To switch from a retirement visa to a Long-Term Resident (LTR) visa in Thailand, you can apply for the LTR without needing to leave the country. After submission, you should select the option to pick up your visa within Thailand. Once your application is approved, you will arrange an appointment where the Board of Investment (BOI) will assist you with the necessary steps.

You shouldn't need to leave Thailand.

Apply for the LTR and choose that you want to pick it up inside of Thailand. Once you're approved you'll schedule an appointment and the BOI will help you take care of everything.
