I have a one year extension based on retirement. I am thinking of getting a new passport outside Thailand. When I enter Thailand again do I just show both the old and new passport? Do I need to visit my local immigration to get the stamps moved?
TLDR : Answer Summary
If you have a one-year retirement extension and are renewing your passport outside Thailand, you should present both your old and new passports upon re-entry into Thailand. Ensure you have a re-entry permit if necessary. Later, you will need to visit the immigration office to transfer the existing extension stamps from your old passport to the new one, particularly before applying for your next extension. It may also be prudent to have documentation ready, such as bank statements, to demonstrate compliance with the retirement visa requirements.
