Coming to Hua Hin Jan 16 with the evisa from USA (assuming it is approved by then) Will set up bank account to move to retirement visa. Can I do a short term rental to look for a house to buy (in my Thai wife's name) while in process for the 1 year extension, or do I need to have a long term rental to get that long term visa?
Also, my mother will also be doing the same. Do both our names need to be on the rental contract?
TIA
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about using a short-term rental while applying for a retirement visa in Thailand and whether both their and their mother's names need to be on the rental contract. Community comments advise that a short-term rental is feasible for the visa process, but including both names on the lease can simplify future residency requests for their mother. It's also recommended to gather necessary documentation, such as the landlord's ID and the lease agreement.
