@Nick ******
he may be referring to the amounts you have to show as income to qualify showing you can provide for yourself before the visa is issued. I came from America, this is the very reason people voted for President as they did because too many came into the country with no means of support. Americans didn’t like it. This is the pure definition of entitlement as though the rules don’t apply to him. Michael Yamada jokes on you.

Michael, this is THEIR country, please remember that. You will be Very Frustrated coming here with the attitude that they need to be transparent. They have the right to deny whoever they want. They don’t want or need any of the problems that Entitled Foreigners think they deserve. I would do A LOT more research before moving to any country as you’ll probably be one of the statistics that end up hating it and moving back.

Bob D'Andrea not true. I’ve been here 3 months, I’m here on a Non OA retirement visa. I only showed SSA award letter which satisfies the monthly requirement. I got a FBI clearance through a fingerprinting company and got cleared in 1 hour. I got Thai Insurance from Tom at Compare Now Insurance he’s based in London. I opened my Thai account and only have to transfer 65k baht monthly. At the end of the yr for renewal I only have to show the bank statement showing income from the states for 1/yr and or a combination 400k baht to meet the requirements. I did it this way so I knew exactly what I needed to do instead of getting here and guessing. I also WANTED health insurance.

I applied for the Non OA o Multi entry from the U.S. I only showed proof of 65k baht or more I was not asked for bank statements or any other proof. I was told when I renew I can show transfers to my Thai Bank account if it’s under 800k you can show deposits and at least 400k into my Thai bank. If you do the calculations 65k X 12 is 780k so I Guess that’s the combination method.

Graham Seal you can leave it blank as the Non O is for the purpose of retirement. They are giving you 90 days to get your act together. No one is gonna wait til day 89 to complete the application. When you do the application it ask if you want multiple entry and it does cost more.

No you do Not need an onward ticket. You are applying before coming to Thailand. When you get approved they are giving you 90 days to get your Thai phone #, your TM 30 (proof of residence) and open a bank account. Once the retirement application is approved you get a 1 year retirement visa giving you a total of 15 months. I’m on a Non OA multi entry retirement visa.

Hi Paul, I’m here on a multiple entry Non Immigrant OA retirement visa. The way the Royal Thai Consulate office in California (where I applied for my visa) explained it, is that if you leave the country for even one day before your 180 days run, you are NOT subject to the tax rule. When you return the 180 days starts over as well as your 90 day reporting which is required of every type of Thai visa and can be done online after your initial 1st 90 day report. Going to a neighboring country and coming right back constitutes leaving the country. I was advised to pay the extra for the multiple entry which I did. I have only been here for 3 months so unless it’s changed It sounded like sound advise. I understood that if you are here more than 180 days in a year you will need a long term visa i.e. DTV, Retirement, ED, Elite etc.

Greg Alexander he also has to get a Thai phone number. I believe he also qualifies (if over 50) to show a combo of $65k baht in passive or retirement income which includes pension or Social security and 400k baht instead of the 800k that has to be seasoned.
