What I can understand is that this last 60 days extension we have been applying since September, keeps going till May.

IMO I find they have copycat what Indonesia/ Vietnam/Taiwan did (you can stay until this is over) after realising pushing out tourists was not a good idea.

How long were you staying in KL while making the visa runs?

If was a short time, immigration could guess you were working -illegally-

As soon as I know, airline that transported you should take care of yourself as you were not able to reach destination.

That's the reason sometimes while checking-in they act as immigration, asking you for all destination country requirements; to avoid that situation.

August 2019th, after 28 hours flight -with no layovers, just refuel- I've been taken apart.

I think my mistake was writing 60 days of stay, even due to my nationality I'm able to stay 90 days under visa exempt.

Showed USD 800 cash. Accommodation booking. Return ticket.

Still been extorted to be sent back.

I was not braking any rule. Less than 180 days of stay in a year.
