Hi there,

I just did my Covid19 extension, and for first time after -don't know how many times now- I've been told I will need to make a 90 days report.

So they have attached a 90 days report slip to my passport, but my extension ends in 60 days??

Any leads?

Tia

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is confused about the necessity of a 90-day report after receiving a Covid visa extension that is only valid for 60 days. Comments clarify that, if the user is still in Thailand after 90 days, they will need to complete a 90-day report regardless of the visa extension's duration. However, some expats share experiences of not being required to report during a 60-day extension, indicating inconsistencies in how immigration offices enforce this rule. It's suggested that the requirement may depend on specific office policies or the discretion of immigration officials.

only a few idiotic employees in a few immigration offices throughout Thailand require a 90 day report on a 60 day extension, you have to go to a senior officer or other senior office, I am here in Thailand since December last year on 60 days Covid extension repeated many times and no one has ever dared to ask for the 90 day report since I already report my addresd every 60 days

90 day reporting is only applicable for visa or extensions that would allow one to stay longer than 90 days from the day issued. Since it is in the nature of 60-day !!! covid extensions, this cannot apply here. Unfortunately not all of those bright minds at immigration get this. Had such a 90 day required to reporting slip once on a covid extension from Chiang Mai. The Krabi office insisted then - when I tried to do an intermediate reporting later - that this is never needed since I am on a 60 day extension time and again. I got tired of this incompetence game. In the future I will only do 90 day reporting if on a stamp or extension equal or longer than 90 days. Time for this bunch to get a grip on the basics already - or maybe consider working somewhere else. Wasting my time.

@Lisa****
, and if you're still gonna be here you have a 90 day report due on the date on that paper <- meaning if you're going to get ANOTHER covid extension after this you'll have to do a 90 day report.

Would be the 30 days report, after 60 days renewal...

I find it non sense.

Anyways, will keep with the rules. Thanks.

@Lisa****
as long as you're here for the SAME REASON more than 90 days (no matter how many extensions it takes to get there) you report. :)

That you don't understand or see the sense in it doesn't factor into it :P

@Lisa****
then IF you're still in the country when that date rolls around (even if you got a new extension by then) you file a 90 day report.

OR

Did you get a 90 day report RECEIPT <-the paper that tells you the next time you have to do another 90 day report?
Tod *********
did you get a SMALL paper like this telling you when your FIRST 90 day report is due

So, after a little bit of online stalking I'm supposing that you're on Koh Tao. This is the new office just opened up there. They are a subordinate to Surat Thani Immigration.

Like their office in KPNG, looks like they are applying the 90 day rule for anyone on an extension of stay and who have been in country over 90 days. The report is free and doesn't take long to do.

Pretty simple.

If you are still in Thailand in 90 days, do a 90 day report. The 90 days can overlap extensions.

If you aren't, it's irrelevant.

Where did this abomination happen.?

You can extension your covid visa more 2 times so you still can make 90 days report

@Mintty *******
it's not a covid visa. Its an extension.
