I could not open a bank account anywhere without the non o visa, once I had the visa my wife took me to Kasikorn bank at Central Rama2 and it was unbelievably easy just by having that precious stamp in my passport.
absolutely, if I knew then what I know now, I would have applied for a non o before leaving Australia. Part of my problem was waiting for settlement on my house and proceeds going into my bank.
Interesting, I am currently going through the Bangkok immigration and have a house yellow book and pink ID card. We are currently looking at building a house in my wife’s home village in Phetchabun. I guess once we move there I will need to go through the whole yellow book process again.
I don’t know all the regulations however, I have yellow book and pink card. My local DLT says that I need a visa and, even with my IDP I was required to watch the online video to get the QR code.
