I am applying for a Thai driver's license for the first time. I have an American driver's license/motorcycle license and an IDP. Questions:

If I have a work permit, is it true I don't need the residency certificate?

I read I have to get my license certified by the embassy? Is this true even with an IDP?

Having an American motorcycle license and IDP, will I still have to take the written and practical tests? I've heard different answers on this. I'm guessing it depends on the office? I'll be applying on Samui.

Many thanks!

Hello, my daughter has her tourist visa expired since 30th of October, but she has hospitalized since the day before and we have a medical certificate.

What should we do? My guess is just by showing to the immigration at the airport with medical certificate we would not get the overstay stamp. Is that correct?

As she need to go out and we need to do a non O, could the overstay be a problem on that process?

hello, I am on a METV. The first 60 day date to leave the country is stamped 4 november in my french passport. Due to illness, I could not leave the country today on a planned trip. I am quite ill in bed and would like to delay this trip to immigration as long as I can. Can I ask for an extension at Bangkok immigration on Monday 4 november, which is the same date stamped in my passport. thank you

Searched everywhere, but still so confusing.

Doing my Thai driving license renewal from 2 to 5 years.

Need residence certificate. Is tm30 enough with 2 photos, and visa

/entry stamps? Do I need a house contract? ( just did in Pattaya for my dad, and those where the only required)

I travel every 3 weeks, so don’t have 90 day report

Do I need to make an appt for license renewal or can I come to DLT directly

Many thanks in advance 🙏🙏🙏

There was some discussion earlier about DTV and 90 day reporting. Although there wasn’t really any doubt.

Immigration officer made sure to remind me while applying residency certificate that : “Don’t forget 90 day report!”

Also, bank account on DTV IS possible in Bangkok with medical certificate.

Got bank account yesterday on the first branch I tried. My thai friend had called another branch (Bangkok Bank) for me that stated:

- Medical certificate confirming hospital treatment over 3 months AND

- Visa longer than 3 months

Resident certificate also possible without 90 day report at Immigration in Bangkok now. 200 Baht, mailed within 7 daya.

Hello and thank you for the quick inclusion in the group. What do you have to do to get a Thai driver's license? I am in possession of a German driver's license. International Driver's Permit is also present. Thanks in advance

I get confused in my search, for the perfect visa, to be almost constantly in my preferred Thailand.

Some websites say.

800.000 in the bank AND 65.000 income?

Other say.

800.000 in the bank OR 65.000 income?

My problem is.

I have sufficient money in my Belgian bank. But it's all invested. It gets free to use in almost 2 years.

If I would take it out now. I would lose a lot of money. And I would lose money again, by exchanging it to Thai bath and wiring it to a Thai bank. But if a monthly income of 65.000 THB (1735€ at this moment) is sufficient. Then I can apply for the retirement visa.

.

* I am 64. So that's over 50.

* I have a valid foreign (Belgium) passport.

* I can easily find a residence in Thailand and presenting a 6-month lease (I can rent in the hotel I always stay)

* Because my monthly income before taxes is over 65.000 THB it should be easy to get the letter from the embassy proving of sufficient income.

* The “Police Clearance Certificate” I guess, is a certificate of Belgium police of no criminal record. So that’s also no problem.

* Medical certificate. I guess it’s medical certificate of having non contagious illness. Also no problem to get.

* Proof of health insurance Thailand. I don’t know if my Belgium health insurance is sufficient. If not I can always get one specially for Thailand.

.

So my one and only problem is.

What is required?

800.000 ‘AND’ 65.000

or

is it 800.000 ‘OR’ 65.000?
