Just retired with TP Gold visa and now getting all the paperwork sorted out for a long term stay
Got 10 year rental agreement for a house and got issued yellow house book and pink id card at the local city administration (Amphur)
Next step is drivers license, need to take a test and get a medical certificate but think the TP visa plus pink id card and yellow book is ok as documentation basis for application
Just one question if anyone should have same issue, my rental agreement and yellow book does not show same address. Owner of the rental house is not very cooperative so relatives of my late wife (I am now single and intend to stay single) organized it on their blue book. It included interview at the Amphur and some paperwork. I was informed at the city office that the 2 addresses don’t have to match as many Thais are registered one place but have actually moved and live/work in another place
Any comment or advice anyone, I was married for 37 years and the wife took care of everything, now I’m on my own and need all the advice I can get
Two questions on getting a Thai driver's license with my IDP.
1st question:
I tried making an appointment with the DLT office online but no luck. So if I walk-in to one of the Bangkok offices (Bangchak or Chatuchak), am I able to get it done the same day (assuming I have all necessary docs), or will I likely get a queue number for a later date/time depending on their availability? I wanted to plan accordingly as some of the documents (residence cert, medical cert) have a 30 days validity.
2nd question:
I have read that you don't need to take the 1 hour video training if you have an IDP unlike a regular driver's license from your home country you are converting from. Is this true?
How to convert NZ/Australia driving licence to Thai Driving Licence? Is TM30 and passport stamp enough? Is 90 day report required to get residence certificate?
The evisa is a nightmare. They keep asking me for my bank statements proving income over and over....and now on try number 5 they are now saying they want proof of 800 k in particular. They also insist I have the 5 prohibitive diseases health certificate. Ive just gone to the clinic. The one test takes 9 weeks. The tests also cost about 12k baht. Not a train smash but why???? I thought I had done my homework. Clearly not. Goal posts keep shifting. Insane.
My other option is to deposit the 65k into my Bangkok Bank account for 12 months and then apply. Not ideal of course.
Hi. Evisa for non O. What do you do when they now after the fact ask for following up docs...in particular medical certificate in past few months showing no prohibitive diseases. Well I havent had one. Do they mean I must now go for a health check? No mention of a number of things in the online visa system. Now suddenly all these other things. Like ALL the pages of your passport suddenly. Any clarity? I'm in Malaysia
Im currently in the middle of getting approval for my DTV application. Applied from Sydney Australia with an Australian Passport. The consulate has requested a remote work letter and due to my circumstances, they are taking a very long time to provide this. I was wondering if it is possible to provide the embassy with a medical certificate stating that I am the primary caregiver to my partner (unmarried) who has the DTV as a result of medical treatment to get this approved?
My friend had a stroke in now is in a assisted living facility can he get a letter from his doctor so that an agent, a lawyer or friend can get power of attorney to do his annual retirement visa without his presence at immigration? How can you keep your retirement visa active if you're disabled?
