Annie Denis why do you put your deposit to the landlord when you rented a house? It is the same reason. 800K thb is secure deposit for Thailand. Thailand is the landlord and rented you a place to live in terms of conditions. So you, foreigners are tenants in Thailand. All landlords want to keep deposit for security reason.

Joiner Man 800 K thb in the thai bank is like secure deposit when you rent a house. you can not touch that deposit until your contract is ended. If you move earlier or break contracts or damage something in house or something wrong in the house, the landlord can keep your deposit. Your 800K thb is like this for Thailand. You are a tenant in Thailand, and Thailand rented you a place to live as long as your visa or permit valid. Thailand is landlord. When you have problems in Thailand, Thailand can take your money.

if you apply a visa non o retirement, and get it. And come to Thailand. Then the agent helps you to open a thai bank account. And you put 800K Thb or more into your thai bank, the agent helps you for your extension. In this case, the most cheapest price. But you must do most things by yourself, non o visa, and put your money into Thai bank. But if you do not put your money into Thai bank, and use agent help, it will be higher price. The most expensive option would be all in one service package. Yes you do not do anything. You just come to Thailand on visa free, or tourism visa, and the agent will do everything for you including, bank open and one year extension. The agent does it all for you. You do not need to do anything even putting 800K thb. This is the highest price.

Todd Capron What they called when someone used agent, it is easy to do it by yourself. like this. Just hilarious for me. It is like easy to be rich! do it by yourself! Being rich is so easy, if you can not be rich, you are dumb.🤣🤣🤣

Graham Seal Thanks but not for me. I always use an agent to do it all for me. So no need to go anywhere.

Stephen Howell Many immigration officers do not accept that statement without stamp and signature of the bank.

MagentaGoldfish4443 yes he can, but if he changed his bank to another bank, monthly income statement could not be accepted by the immigration, because some immigration officers do not allow to irregularly transfer the fund into different banks. Why? I do not know. in this case, his renewal will be rejected and must do it again from the scratch.
