Hello Group,

Can anyone recommend an agency that provides help in transferring motorbike ownership? This is for the Minburi, Bangkok area.

Hi, I went to book an appointment for my driver's license and Bangkok is booked until late Feb! Is it ok to book elsewhere? Samut Sakhon is convenient for me (my wife works there) and they have availability in December.

*I would appreciate advice. I am arriving by air into Bangkok for a 10-day stay in 2025. I will have a visa exemption (60-days). I possess a valid driver’s license (auto) including an international driver’s permit. Will an agency be able to assist obtaining a driver’s license (auto) in Thailand for a foreigner?*

Question re Thai DL extension in Phuket. After the first 2 years we have to extend our Thai DL in December. There is no possibility to make an online appointment until next April 26. There must be an alternative option at the DLT phuket or? Can I collect all needed docs and got to DLT without the online appointment? Just stand in the row first thing in the morning? Thx for help

(we don‘t want to go to other provinces)

Hi, I have a Thai Private Motorcycle Driving Licence (Temporary), issued in Chiang Mai on 26 December 2023 and expiring on 26 December 2025. I would like to extend its validity and have some questions on that:

1. What documents do I need to provide when applying for the extension?

2. Do I need to apply for the extension in Chiang Mai, or can I do it anywhere in Thailand? Can I do it from abroad?

3. Do I need to apply for the extension before the expiry date (26 December), or can I do it afterwards as well?

Not a visa question but I hope some can help. I got my International Drivers license from AAA (the only verified U.S. source). It’s stamped and legit. Is there anything I should do when I arrive to help avoid paying fines when stopped at checkpoints? When I previously lived in TH, 20 years ago, that was my biggest frustration-constantly getting stopped. Should I go into a Government office and get the DL verified?

Thank you!

Two questions on getting a Thai driver's license with my IDP.

1st question:

I tried making an appointment with the DLT office online but no luck. So if I walk-in to one of the Bangkok offices (Bangchak or Chatuchak), am I able to get it done the same day (assuming I have all necessary docs), or will I likely get a queue number for a later date/time depending on their availability? I wanted to plan accordingly as some of the documents (residence cert, medical cert) have a 30 days validity.

2nd question:

I have read that you don't need to take the 1 hour video training if you have an IDP unlike a regular driver's license from your home country you are converting from. Is this true?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
