You need a re-entry permit to allow you to travel freely in and out of the country. I believe it's 1k for the single and 3.9k for the multiple but I'm sure someone will be along shortly to confirm this.

My personal experience after 3 extensions based on marriage and only living 3 miles from Chang Wattana is they have never visited.

I had exactly this issue at Chang Wattana when renewing my Marriage based on o two weeks ago.. I did exactly the same as

and problem solved.

They did NOT ask me to keep the funds there until I go back next week however although I will get another update and statement just in case !

may I suggest sticking to the 30 day extension first because if you want to extend again, you can the get the family 60 after the 30 but not the other way around. I'm sure

Now you can get a 2 month family extension with no financial requirements while your 400k season for two months.

Why was I asked to present an updated bank book during the non O marriage visa consideration period?

At Chang wattana they ask you to get it updated the day youngo back and pick up the final stamp so in effect making you leave the money in for 3 months. All offices have different rules though!
