How do I request a multi-entry visa after my non-O marriage extension approval in Thailand?

I have just applied for a 1 year extension (following my initial 3 month visa) to my non o visa based on marriage. I wanted a multi entry visa and was expecting to pay circa 4k baht. However, I was charged 2k baht and told the visa decision is pending. Subject to approval, do I then request a multi entry visa and if yes, what will the additional fees be? Thanks all.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has applied for a 1-year extension of their non-O visa based on marriage and was charged 2,000 baht, with the visa decision pending. They inquire whether they should request a multi-entry visa following approval and what the additional fees would be. Comments clarify that after approval, the user can get a multiple re-entry permit instead of a multi-entry visa, costing 3,800 baht, while a single entry costs 1,900 baht.

you need to get the re-entry after the 1 month under consideration is over

A single entry is 1900 and a multiple entry is 3800. You can get it the same day you get your extension is approved. It's common to get under consideration stamp for a non O marriage visa. I wouldn't be too concerned about approval, if they gave you a UC stamp.

You don't need multi entry visa, just buy a multiple entry permit once your yearly extensions is inked in.

The multi entry permit costs 3,800 Thai baht. Get it when you get your one year extension of stay.

You need a re-entry permit to allow you to travel freely in and out of the country. I believe it's 1k for the single and 3.9k for the multiple but I'm sure someone will be along shortly to confirm this.

Sounds like you paid the fee for the marriage extension. You don't get multiple entries with that, you buy re-entry permits, 1 for 1000, multiple for 3800.
