My point is once you are here in Thailand you have to import the money yo your Thai bank account, what goes into your USA bank account has nothing to do with your visa once you are here living in Thailand
After your first 1 year visa extension expires, you can then apply for the further years based on at least
*****
baht being deposited from your foreign bank accoun]t into your Thailand bank account, but it must be transferred every month, miss a month and your back to square one, it must be every callendar month !
baht EVERY month and they enforce that to the letter, I was talking last evening with a guy who let his 800,000 drop one month by only a few hundred baht and there was no way out of that either, he has to reapply again from the start.
Where I live, if you show an IDP when you apply, you have to do the emergency stop and depth perseption test, but you dont have to sit through the 1 hour long instruction film, like most thing though I suspect it depends where you apply !
I had the same from Bangkok bank and had to get confirmation that the phone number was my number, also since I took the phone number contact out many years ago I have a new passport, so it appeared that this needed to be undated as well on the phone contract.
You may already know, but its woth pointing out that whenever you withdraw funds outside of the province that your account is based in you will get charged a fee.
Me too, last week had the phone number for 20 odd years but in that time I had a new passport number, that was the main problem, so anyone with a Thai phone number who gets a new passport needs to report it to the Phone service provider, I had already reported the new passport number to the bank.
I think the DTV will change very soon, this visa is the reason its so much a pain in the arse now to get a bank account, especially with Bangkok Bank which is the only International bank in Thailand.
