he can't apply for the "change of visa type" from a tourist visa to a 90 days Non-Imm-O visa, because for this process, one needs to have a minimum of 15 days left on his stay permit. Which he does not have any more and he also already blew the 30 days extension. He might be able to do the "change" from out of a 60-days "family visit extension". This he needs to inquire at his immigration office. In case they deny, all that is left is a new 60 days tourist visa in one of the neighbouring countries, or the 90 days Non-Imm-O in Savannakhet

Thai Immigration actually is not interested in your return ticket or flight out of Thailand, when you arrive without a visa and enter visa-exempt. Only if your passport shows an intensive travel history to Thailand, you might get pulled aside and asked.

In the majority of all cases, it is the airline which wants to see a proof of travel out of Thailand within the 30 days period you will get stamped in on a visa-exempt entry

You can solve this issue with a cheap “real” one-way flight ticket. i.e. Air Asia from Hat Yai to Kuala Lumpur for like 32.- US Dollar

You can try your luck with one of the “fake” onwardtickets, but be prepared that they might not be accepted

Some people claim that a bus- or train ticket out of Thailand, or a hotel booking in the neighbor country was enough of a proof, but again be prepared that the airline will only accept a “real” flight ticket

There is NO GUARANTEE that your experience will be like some people in the FB groups will tell you, claiming that they have never been asked for an onward travel proof.

Look, if you can show Thai Immigration proof of your work and the regular „Rest and Recreation" time outs you receive from the company you work for

They might be very lenient to you, regarding consecutive visa-exempt entries, that last only for two weeks anyways and you are not misusing the system

There are Oil Riggers on Phuket who also got “on-and-off” jobs on the platforms, interrupted by holidays in Thailand – these guys also arrive visa exempt

Take your chance and ask next time you enter. Can’t lose anything by asking

your husband should have kept the old passport after having been issued a new passport. The visa or stay permit stamps in an old passport will remain valid. You can transfer a stay permit from your old passport to a new passport on Thai Immigration. . . . However you must ask your passport issueing authority to hand over to you the "invalidated" old passport, which is containing still valid Thai stamps

I used to get my residence certificate on the Immigration Sisaket within 5 minutes.

exactky: Thai Immigration calls it a "visa Extension" . . .. when ya look it up closely, Thai Immigration has only extended your stay permit . . . STEVE: you are STOOOOPID. sorry to say but you are utterly stooopid , can't help you , you have a deficit in your education
Gregor **********
I am surprised that so many members of this group are struck stooopid. Maybe they want to be "real americans" . . . . ."we are the best, but we have no fucking idea about the World outside of the US" . .we are proud to be Stoooopid

Steve. Your are STOOOPID! The appliction to a "Permanent Residence" in Thailand is a totally different thing

look. In case you don't believe me. Ask the question in the "Thai visa advice" group. Thai visa "Guru" Tod Daniels will tell you EXACTLY the same as I am telling you. if you still insist in your STOOOPID reprisals, you should get whipped for imbecility, like the do in Singapore

@Steve *******
I am in close touch with the diplomatic team of my Embassy. Their stance is the same I am telling here. The Thai Immigration talks ass out of the mouth. They DON't extend visa. They only extend stay permits
