Thai and Farang Landlords Don't want to know about the requirement to report renters - BECAUSE reporting your presence - renting a room, bungalow, apartment, etc. means likely getting found out for not reporting Rental Income for Tax purposes - Also known as Evading Taxes. This failure to report can go back many years and big money to pay - plus fines.
At today's exchange rate of 36.92 baht per Euro that would equal about 738,000. I suspect this is an accident of an old posting on the website when 20,000 Euro came very close to equaling 800,000 Baht
One way to look at the word 'retirement' is it is only a nickname for several Long Stay arrangements - some are coupled with a One Year Extension of Stay.
My friends have told me that taking a rent car from Krabi / Ao Nang is workable. I am also told that at the Thai border on the way to Kota Bharu there is a car park where you can securely leave the car - then take a bus/taxi to Kota Bharu.
- if it is not used it is not abused. And as you know Krabi Labor Ministry has for quite a while required proof of exit via photos of exit and entry stamps before acceptance of the WP.3 So that scenario is history.
- You have twisted logic. A significant reason for using the WP.3 is to deal the rule that people in Thailand on Non Imm. O Visas / Extensions cannot by rule apply for a Work Permit nor for a B Visa. Such people go to a neighbor country to apply for a B Visa using the WP.3 to get started - in the same manner as some people on Tourist Visas go to places like KL to get a B Visa. There is nothing abusive about using a valid and approved menthod of obtaining a WP / B Visa utilizing a WP. 3 Application form designed for that very purpose.
- I know what they are but do not see how this person got a B Visa without a WP.1 application being submitted to the Labor Ministry and the "suvcessfully" accepted WP.1 with the Labor Ministry official form letter being in the B Visa Application folder.
