Just got our Non-B for teaching. Yay!
Questions:
1) What are the next steps? Our employer is supposed to apply for our work permit, right?
2) Are we allowed to begin teaching now or must we wait for the work permit?
3) It's single entry and valid for 90 days. What must we do if we travel outside of Thailand during that period? My husband is leaving on Monday for 2 weeks.
4) After the initial period of 90 days, will we have to leave the country?
5) Our 1.5 year old daughter is on a Non-O. Also valid for 90 days. Are her requirements different than ours?
Hey thanks for everyone for helping us navigate this confusing process!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual has received a Non-B visa for teaching in Thailand and has several questions regarding the next steps. They inquire about their employer applying for the work permit, the ability to start teaching before the work permit is issued, requirements for leaving Thailand within the 90-day validity, obligations after the 90 days, and the different visa needs for their young daughter who holds a Non-O visa. Community responses clarify that the employer should apply for the work permit, it is advisable to wait until it is issued before starting work, a re-entry permit is needed if they leave Thailand, extensions can be applied for before the original visa expires, and their daughter's requirements can be aligned with the parents' visa extension.
