How can I extend my non-immigrant O visa in Thailand after my initial stay?

Hello. I would like some information about my visa. I will return to Thailand (Bangkok) with a non-immigrant O visa single entry (90 days). After how long can I request the extension for a year and I have to present the same documents of the the bank with the payment of 800000 baht? I ask this because to obtain this visa in my country I will have to present a document with the statement of my bank with a minimum of 20000 euros.

Thank

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your non-immigrant O visa in Thailand from the initial 90-day stay to a one-year extension, you need to apply for the extension at least two months after opening a Thai bank account with a minimum balance of 800,000 THB in your name. This amount must be maintained for at least two months before your application. You will also need to present bank statements to prove this requirement.

At today's exchange rate of 36.92 baht per Euro that would equal about 738,000. I suspect this is an accident of an old posting on the website when 20,000 Euro came very close to equaling 800,000 Baht

Setting a fixed amount is for the Thai Embassy/Consulate more easy than daily changes due to currency exchange rate.

If you use the bank method you must have minimum 800.000 Thb in Thai bank account on your name for at least 2 months prior application. You get 90 days Admitted to Stay on Arrival so, best is to sort out the bank as fast as possible and than 2 months later apply for the Extension,
