I want do a visa run to laos using fb4 chiang khong->huay xai. I'm going to drive my scooter from chiang Mai to the border. I've gotten conflicting information about if you can re-enter immediately or need to stay 1 or 2 nights, so I'm not sure if I should bring my scooter across. I'm on a muay thai soft power dtv, this will be my second entry. Will I be asked for supporting paperwork? Proof of ongoing classes? Proof of funds? Any and all advice is a appreciated if you've done a similar trip recently.
Issues at the land border crossings with Lao in Chiang Rai province (Chiang Saen/SEZ and Chiang Khong/Huay Xai)
I deleted the last post :O as now getting new information from the border run companies
BOTH land borders in Chiang Rai province are requiring people stay out of thailand Chiang Saen says overnight and Chiang Khong says 2 nights out
They are saying it's an order from the immigration dept :/
Sorry to have posted sketchy info. This is the latest we have. If you're up in the Northwest of Thailand and need to bounce you should plan on being IN Lao a day or two.
At this time NO other land borders are are affected...
Is this a viable border crossing for 90day stamps? Google maps directed me this way and it says there is a crossing but I don't recall ever seeing anyone talk about it. It's convenient for me as the fam live in Phayao.
My friends want to get second tourist visa in Laos and cross the Laos-Thai border by land. And then after several weeks they plan to leave Thailand by plane.
Are there any rules for people who cross the border by land? Do they need to leave Thailand through land border or airplane would be ok? Please share your experience.
