wise always puts the transfer fee on top of the amount that is to be sent. if I tell them I want $65,000 baht to arrive in my account then they add the fee on top of the $65,000 baht. The same thing happened with the swift transfer. You specify the amount that you want to have arrive in the designated account.

get on Google maps in your city and look up Visa agents. then start calling around to see who will open you an account and how much it will cost.

I have not called the bank because the notation put on the deposit was such that it appeared to be an internal Thailand transfer not an international transfer. after I unfroze my Bangkok bank account I sent another wise deposit from the States to my account there and it was correctly noted again. problem solved? My swift transfer to Siam Commercial Bank is requiring an additional piece of paperwork and that is good because my account with Bangkok Bank was closed all of September and I want to move over to the monthly deposit method for my non-O visa.

Schwab got into my transitory life style, with a mailing service, and refused to open me an account. Fidelity provides fee free withdrawals too, but I have an account with them already!

Kbank did not accept my wise transfer from US with correct notation for Thai immigration, so I sent to Bangkok bank after the account was unfrozen. My Swift transfer cost 2000baht at a reduced exchange rate, Wise was 500baht fee. I was told only 8 banks in Thailand are authorized to do Swift. That makes sense with the horrendous fees!!!

I have been watching this issue of packages between Thailand in the United States. apparently the current administration in the United States had changed some of the regulations regarding the taxation of imported packages to the United States. there was a period of transition in which there was quite a bit of confusion as the regulations lacked specific implementation rules. Thai post was refusing mail to the United States for a while but last week I went and was able to have a letter accepted which was sent to a PO box in California. this action by thaipost refutes earlier action in which they would refuse any and all mail to the US. hopefully this indicates a shift in the normalization of mail services, at least letters to US destinations from Thailand. Good luck in getting your work done!

not my experience. I had an agent help open the bank account and then I did my own paperwork for the nano visa. Chiang Mai immigration office did not give me any hassles and accepted and approved my application, if I understand you correctly

what's your latest exchange rate? I did a transaction through Fidelity and they hit me for 3% and then wise said they can't do Swift transactions because it's only through certain banks and the cut of the exchange rate is too high. what is your experience?
