do you follow news at all -- see the link for the March 28 announcement by thai govt-- not even enough vaccine coming to vaccinate half the Thai population by near the year's end-- so u think some expat is cutting in front of the line. Now, of course, as TIT, something could change tomorrow, but if so, the news will come from the govt, like them, trust them or not, the "inside information " is not to be found on a farang FB page.

agreed, it took all of 5 minutes to complete the US-required docs. one has to complete the annual FBAR filing as well.

the residency certificate in Chiang mai states its valid for 30 days from date of issue. nsybe it's different in bkk??

well, this is just wishful thinking-- to take a single instance and extrapolate across all Thai police in all provinces. Most officers most certainly, from training and experience seeing them, completely understand the difference between a home country license and an IDP. You may have had a luck experience but that doesn't mean that everyone will, and that you shouldn't obey license regulations. In case of an accident, and not properly licensed, insurance will not cover you, and u will find yourself personally financially liable for injuries and damages.
