any dividend investors in the US stock market successfully got their DTV visa? specially if you don't keep much money in the bank but only transferred the 500k Thai Bhat amount to "qualify for proof of funds in bank"? appreciate if you can give me feedback on how it worked for you and which category you applied under, and if they scrutinized a fresh large transfer coming into bank or not or didn't care as long as it was there and "recent date"? asking for Thai consulates in USA only, particularly the Los Angeles one. thanks!

Hi, does anyone have any information about being able to obtain a long stay visa with the purchase of certain condos?

Please share if you have links to legit information.

Hiya all. I'm working on moving to Chiang Mai at the end of this year/beginning of next year. Closing my 3 businesses and selling inventory and equipment.

I'm looking at the DTV Visa 5 year. Being I'd be closing and selling my businesses I won't have any income. I will have investments and cash in the 3-400k USD range. So more than enough to live income free for a good while. A good chance to learn how to live without the constant need to grind. It will be interesting to see how this workaholic deals with being useless for a while. 🤣

My goal will be learning new skills to create an online remote business based in the US while living abroad. Will not having an income be an issue while applying for the DTV? I've seen the DTV requirements being contracts or letters of employment. I've looked at other Visa options but none seem to match what I'd be doing. Any advice would be appreciated I've done a bunch of research already but the DTV still seems like the way to go.

Hi, has anyone used their investments or annuity to create a business to hire yourself for the workcation dtv? If so how many months did you set up your business prior to applying? (If American would a dba certificate suffice or should I set up an LLC)

I have a stable annuity and would like to use that via a business instead of doing a soft power visa. (We prefer this bc although we want to take language classes we don’t want to be tied down to one area of the country for those classes)

I know that you can not work on a retirement visa but can you set up a business and be shareholder without a work permit?

Here is a laugh for you all as we approach the weekend. I know, opening up for the trolls, but as low as I now feel, it won't matter.

Had everything lined up for the DTV, waiting for stocks/investment release for the last piece of the jigsaw. Booked ready for the weekend in time for 30 day extension to finish. Email just arrived and due to various reasons the funds cannot be released for another year. I will have to reconsider my options

Good luck everyone. Maybe I will rejoin in a year... 😄 👋

I will be coming to Thailand in the new year, where I'll be taking ownership of a condo. It's the 49% foreign ownership thing. I won't be retiring then. What would be the best visa, does this count as an investment?

If you buy a condo or villa, does that count as the 800k thai baht needed for a visa? I read something that said that once, but never saw it anywhere else, so I wanted to be sure.
