The very cheapest way I found, is to buy a Phillipines to LA super save ticket about 6 months in advance - no kidding, I just checked recently approx. 400 round trip. This is to LA. I never go directly but take cheaper flights to LA and get a cheap one from there to where I want to go. Always saves money. Kayak.com is where I go for deals.

I was recently reading about this and was pleased to find that you may also just show you have baht coming into your bank account for 4 months (?) and you will qualify. ifmarried, or you can combine provable income with savings for a total of 0. I think that is correct...hope so!

Just depends on the lady and her family. I was astonished when my wife told me buying all that was for me, not her! She was right though: buy those three gold bits (she should ask for earrings also). You just look like the cheapest schmuck to every Thai who knows if you don't or if you just buy a ring. I paid 0 though my wife is divorced and should be very little, we wanted to make it real and I am glad I did. We got it all back since her parents were dead, minus the $1200 the family/village party cost.
