Osteopath is better than chiropractor. I used the osteopath centre Bangkok for both shoulder and back issues. A good osteopath will either diagnose you or refer you for imaging if needed.

I use my wise card all over. Not a lot of contactless but Tap n pay is ok. Safer probably. If she can open a bank account great. If not direct transfer from wise to landlord. Actually if she’s going to be here over 180 days that’s more tax efficient according to new laws. Either way transfer the money into Thai Baht inside wise. Digital card works well for online payments otherwise not needed. Think of it as a back up. You lose your physical card, you can still book a hotel, buy a flight etc. DM me if you’re still not sure

if you have a bank account and you have the money you don’t need to do it with an agent. I did it with the agent the first year because it was during COVID and I didn’t have a clue. I don’t know where she sent it but I never went to the immigration office! It took a week to come back. I spent the year worrying that it wasn’t right. Since then I’ve done it myself. It takes about half a day to get the paperwork together and sit in immigration. So it depends what you consider easier. For me currently easier is knowing that it’s done right!

it’s not ducking and diving. Thai immigration suggest this method themselves. I went to immigration and asked what I needed to do to. They asked me which country and when I said UK they told me bring your bank account statement to show

deposited from outside each year and a letter from your bank. As from this year though we are taxed on these monies brought in unless we can show tax paid already and a dual taxation agreement. For the OP because doing it this way requires a year, you’d have to go with the 800 deposit in your first year anyway

I have my UK account with Lloyds. I changed the address to Thailand online. I have no problems. I can change it back any time. I also have a Lloyds offshore account and a Wise account. I use Wise to transfer here because it’s cheaper and faster. You can have 2 numbers on your Loyds account. So I have one for texts and one for calls to do the codes. No problems so far

So the first year I did it on deposit then I spent the 2nd year bringing in the amounts and now I just renew every year for 1700 plus the exit re-entry visa. People should be aware that this amount that you bring into country will now be taxed unless you can prove you paid tax on it elsewhere under a double taxation agreement. My tax this year will be

on the 800,000 I brought in. Is it cheaper to pay an agent? yes. I prefer not to.
