I have a new passport and my visa is in my old passport. I was going to renew my permit to stay so I hadn't been to the immigration yet. i thought I would do it all in one visit.
However I am now thinking to leave and apply to come back on DTV. Does anyone know if it is ok to leave the country with my new passport and just take the old passport with the visa to show emigration?
Google says yes but I thought people here might know specifically for Thailand Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is possible to leave Thailand with your new passport while carrying your old passport that contains the visa. If you are at an airport, you can present both passports. However, if you plan to exit through a land border, you should leave with the passport that contains your entry stamp, and it might be necessary to transfer the visa.
You must leave with the passport that has your entry stamp in it if you leave at a land border I believe so it needs to be transferred. At an airport you can present both passports.
