I got one through Siam Legal in Bangkok. It was easy and didn't cost much

If your name is on the BC, take it to the US Embassy to get your child US Citizenship, then when his passport comes in, apply for Thai citizenship for the child, getting him dual citizenship. I don't get why you wouldn't think to report the birth to the US Embassy.

Oh. I didn’t know it was possible to apply for the DTV online. Let me look into that. Thanks

How would you travel if the embassy has your passport?

yes 400 baht, 200 for the DL, and 200 to be able to buy a car.

I read here someone saying definitively that you could only get the CoR after getting the 90 day thing

oh you know I brought two passport size photographs with me and forgot to give it to them. They didn’t ask for them either. I wonder if I had given them to them, would they have given it to me on the spot? Man. That was a goof-up on my part. I thought the mailing-it-to-me-part had to do with verifying that I lived at the address I said I did. Oh well. Seven days isn’t too long. I can wait. Thanks for this tidbit.

Hey. No idea why they asked for an invitation letter because that goes against the whole idea of the DTV. Something is off for sure. They asked for 6 months’ bank statement so that’s what I gave them. I’ve always had well over the minimum requirement but I think they only want to see that you currently have it. Maybe make a trip over to Delhi to get one. Or write an email to the Thai Embassy in Delhi and explain this to them and see if they have any suggestions.
