I entered Thailand 3 days ago on a non-o retirement visa, short term visa, 3 months. I have already visited 3 Thai banks: Bangkok Bank, TTB and Siam purple bank. No one opens a bank account, they require a long pension visa. Without a long visa there is no bank account, without a bank account there is no long visa. Can you advise something? Thanks

Hi everyone! I want to apply for the DTV visa, but I have a question about the 500k THB requirement.

Currently I am listed as a manager of a bank account in my dads name, with an official letter from my bank stating that I myself have direct access to all funds (which surpasses above 500k THB).

The funds have been on the account for a period longer than 6 months, but the problem is that the bank can only put my dads name in the bank statement, but I have the letter I mentioned previously attached (again, showing I have direct and full access to all the funds in the account).

Would this be sufficient when applying for the DTV visa?

I arrived in Thailand on a 3-month Non-O visa. After securing a lease and getting a letter from immigration, I was able to open a bank account. (Bangkok Bank refused me even with the immigration letter, but Kasikorn Bank accepted.)

Now I’m preparing to apply for a 1-year retirement visa. I have a few questions for those who have gone through this process, especially without using an agent:

1. Is medical insurance required for this visa?

2. How long do I need to wait after transferring the required funds before I can submit my application?

3. After the extension is granted, do I need to keep the full amount (or part of it) in the account, and if so, for how long?

I just received approval for a Non-Immigrant O visa (90 days) for visiting my Thai family. The officer in Vancouver mentioned that I can apply for an one year extension and request a multiple-entry permit once I arrive in Chiang Mai, and that the process is easy. Has anyone done this before? What documents are required?

If you hold a DVT visa but are now legally married to a Thai national, can you now open a bank account with the Marriage Certificate? If yes, which banks will open an account?

Hello, I have a Non O visa. If I enter Thailand, get the bank account set up and transfer the funds into it to season, would I be able to leave the country and re-enter in time to apply for the extension?

Would I just need a re-entry permit?

Thank you 🙏

So a DTV holder cannot open a bank account. I tried all of them. Can I issue a Thai drivers license?
