Good evening everyone I was born in Italy but I have been living in London for 26 years. I am 59 years old and would really like to retire in Thailand where I have already traveled several times and where I met a lady and would like to get married. Question: what do I need from A to Z to do this? bank account, visas, if I need to have a house with her etc.. Thank you all so much
Waited patiently in line for an hour with my Thai wife
Presented my Passport, English Driving Licence, Non O 90 day retirement visa, signed letter to Bank of Bangkok, from Nong Bua Lamphu Immigration and stamped TM30 and was told that this was not enough. Now being told I need a Yellow Book. Totally frustrating and at a loss what to do. PS. Please do not tell me to use an agent, my background is finance and cannot jeopardise my position by using agents.
Just been to Bangkok Bank in Udon Thani and asked for a simple bank account. I had my passport and 90 day retirement visa and driving licence. I’m 56 and retired and in a relationship. My girlfriend rents a home nearby. I was told that I also need a TM30 stamped at immigration office and long term rental agreement. She also tried to sell me Insurance for 50k baht for 12 months, as she said it would help my application. This is just a post for information purposes but feel free to add comments that may help!
Hello. May I know if I can request E Visa page for already issued DTV Visa? Because I got mine before they change to E-Visa system. So I only have Visa Stamp in my passport.
What happened is the bank asked me to provide E-Visa page to open bank account (ttb).
Although I had explained why I don’t have E Visa they keep asking for it. The Visa stamp in my passport is not enough for them.
Is it a mistake to use my Thai bank account to show proof of funds, instead of one from my home country? I’m aware it could highlight that I’ve essentially been living in Thailand for the past six months (on visa exemptions), and that I’ve had a Thai account for four years now (I’ve been on various visas). My passport stamps tell the same story, however.
