I am planing to get a 90 day non o visa in Australia ,come to Thailand open a bank account, put 800000 baht in account and apply for 12 month extenion based on retirement. I have been coming to thailand regulary over last 2 years on tourist visas for 55 days at a time 2025 3 x .With crackdown on people staying over 150 days i thought its time to get a long term visa

My problem is I dont want to spend 90 days in Thailand to setup the non o visa as getting doctument together to open bank account together then transfering money

Waiting 2 months after money arrives to get extension if I hit some snag along the way will take almost the full 90 days

Any suggestion how i could achive a 12 month extension in less time

Ideally i would like to arrive get a lease on on an apartment open a bank account transfer money return to Australia for a month then return on a new 90 non O and

Extened for 12 months as my 800,000 would had been in bank for 2 months.

Hi everyone,

-I’m planning to apply for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand.

I have a bank account, but I don’t have a large deposit in it because I usually use e-wallets / digital wallets for my payments.

However, I do have:

* Pay slips for the last 6 months

* A formal work contract showing my monthly income

* I work remotely as a digital nomad

My question is: Will this be sufficient to prove financial stability for the DTV, or is a large bank deposit mandatory?

Any advice or experiences from people who applied for DTV without a big bank balance would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Does the "savings" account need to be the same as the bank account income is deposited into? I guess I would just show the history of both accounts?

Hi All

Thanks for the add.

We intend to retire to Hua Hin around April 2027 and we are visiting on holiday in March 2026 for three weeks.

Is there anything I can do during our holiday in March to help with the retirement in 2027.

We will both be 62 on retirement and both UK citizens.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Bank account and 1 year extension.

The bank account was opened by an agency. I hardly remember where the branch was (somewhere in Bangkok, China Town). I got my first 1 year extension with the agency.

My 2 questions:

1. I opened another bank account with Kashikorn Bank where I deposited 850K THB. Would that different bank account be a problem when renewing 1 year extension (26. September 2026)?

I have Yellow Book, Thai DL, Thai Pink ID, bank book.

2. My TM30 when the 1. year extension was granted, was with some address in the provinces (via an agency). The day after arrival to Thai (October 30 2025) , I submitted TM30 with my my current home address in Bangkok (Samut Prakan). That TM30 will never change.

Does that TM30 override whatever address and TM30 the agency logged in?

Trying to check if I can go on my own to Immigration for the next extension or am I locked with the agency?

I arrived in Thailand on the 29th of November with my Non O visa planning to retire. TM30 sorted at local immigration then on to Kasikorn bank to open an account. Even though I had all the correct documents and my Thai girlfriend with me to translate I was refused. They said I needed a yellow house book. We went to the local government office to ask and were told it would take 6 months. Impossible as I only have 90 days to get this sorted. On to another branch, no success again. OK let's try Krungtai , 45 minutes queueing before being told no again.

What do I have to do to open an account here?

I tried the above banks because they have good reputations and I am avoiding Bangkok bank.

Should I keep trying different branches of the big 2 or are there other options? I'm in Bueng kan province on the border with Laos. I would appreciate any input.

well after all the restless, sleepless nights stressed out about getting a bank account, I arrived in Thailand on the 2 ND December, immigration the next day very helpful people, explained it all for my extension of stay, the 4th of December got up early with a bit of nerves as it was bank account day, this could not have been easier, 2 bank accounts in about an hour, very easy, the hardest thing was getting my profile photo, and trying to sign my name the same twice, lol, anybody starting to go through the same just don't worry, have the right paperwork and visa and it's a doddle,
