TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is possible for DTV holders to open a Thai bank account. However, the process may not be straightforward and can require the assistance of an agent. Some banks are more accommodating than others, and recommendations include TTB Bank and Bangkok Bank. Fees for agent services typically range from 5,000 to 10,000 THB.

last year I did it Even with turist visa in Bangkok bank, but needed a address with tm 30, witch you bring to immigration with your passport and 2 photo, and Thai license. They not allow to open accounts before buying a insurance 5900 bath. That was last year and only Bangkok bank accepted this last year, but this year I heard they changed the policy. If I where you I would go to Bangkok Bank and talk with a agent there. If you really want to find out more contact the call center Bangkok Bank phone nr. 1333. If you are abroad call +6626455555.

Certainly is possible. How easy to do is debatable. You’ll almost certainly need an agents help.

It can be done - in theory but in practice unless you go to 300 different branches and find someone be that will do it you’ll probably best to get an agent to do so.
