Isn’t a non imm b single visa/valid current visa required prior to a WP application? That’s the way we’ve always had to do it. Visa first. Also, received my WP 4 days ago, no issue.
Ironically the U.K. scrutinises individuals that may have married for a visa, it seems the opposite is true in this case 😮 can you imagine a U.K. immigration officer telling your gf to marry you so she could stay in the UK longer? 🤭
thanks for the info. I’ve read about people getting FBI related checks for visa applications, that wasn’t my point. There are without doubt differences from country to country. My point was if it is a police check from your own country then it may have to be certified by your embassy then legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs prior to applying for a visa. Assuming (as it is a visa forum) that’s what it’s for. Criminal checks (now) required for a work permit application (in education) don’t appear to have this requirement. At the moment.
As far as a check from your home country, obviously depends where you come from. I believe it’s an FBI check in the states. Worth noting, and as a requirement at the Penang consulate, you are required to get your police check translated and certified. My embassy wouldn’t actually do it.. which means the MFA couldn’t certify it either.
I saw this coming last August when Penang started listing it as a requirement for a non imm b. And was pro-active. It’s not a quick method granted. I was told to go directly to the pcs centre if I wanted one done quickly. But to answer the OP’s question of what is the fastest way, it seems he’s already done it.
I got mine processed through a local police station. If they are ‘ok’ with your school they take your fingerprints and send the stuff up for you. 500 baht. Took three months to get back but no hassle. If you’ve been to Bangkok and had it done there then that’s the fastest way you can do. It. 7 - 10 days is quick.
Thank you for confirming this. I had/have a plan A mapped out for doing a final bounce close to expiry (as advised before) to push it to the 15 months total time on my Non Imm B Multi. My employers Lawyer (who is dealing with my WP) has just confused matters then. She was also unaware that I’m no longer eligible to renew my current Non Imm B Multi. It seems that the information here is more up to date than theirs. Thanks again for this.
