TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is inquiring about the delay in receiving an official work permit in Thailand despite the approval from the government. Their employer has indicated that they await an official letter due to system activation issues. A commenter confirmed that as soon as the required documents are submitted for the work permit, there is usually a confirmation of the application process, typically ready within a week if the correct visa is held.

NO, as soon as your employer hands in all documents needed to apply fr the Work Permit he wil get a confirmation that the wp is in process and can be picked up normally within a week or when you get the correct visa.

There you have the difference, for employment you need the WP 3, WP application approved. For Teaching you don't

Ok. We’ve made several applications where it’s been non - imm b single application (with employer documents) then WP application after. Interesting.

If you have a valid Non Immigrant B visa, the employer use WP 1 application, if you are abroad or many times used for people with visa which is employement prohibited, the employer use WP 3 application.

If the consulate wants to see a document that the WP is applied for, your employer needs to apply for the WP before you can apply for the visa.

Isn’t a non imm b single visa/valid current visa required prior to a WP application? That’s the way we’ve always had to do it. Visa first. Also, received my WP 4 days ago, no issue.

Okay, understand, sounds strange, because the application is done by paperwork, no computer involved. I guess you just have to wait till employer gets the documents and sent them to you.

I don't have any visa yet..

will get WP and other employer related document from Thailand employer

And then apply for visa from my local visa cell.

On arrival of Thailand will provide them WP and visa and get my work permit approved

Currently I am at step1..getting WP and all other documents from Employer..but they are saying some govt system migration happend and it is fully not activated in order to get WP.
