Once the process is complete, they'll send you some opaque link to another website to DL a PDF. The document was sparse as I didn't have anything to report.

Make an appointment ASAP because depending on where you live there could be a delay especially this time of year. Where I did mine there were a few unrelated locations to select for an appointment.

They said it would take a week or two, but it was complete in a day or two. It was about $85.

I went to IdentoGo, and received the FBI background check for my OA visa. The subsequent PDF was accepted by the Thai embassy.

The TDAC number is requested on the TM47 in CM. I just completed the form on Monday.

I did reach out by email a week before my flight to very politely request an update regarding the visa status.

From what I could tell, there is somebody that approves (or not) the application, and someone else in leadership that signs off on the approval.

After waiting five or so weeks for my visa from the New York office, it finally arrived on a Saturday morning just days before my flight. The timing was especially tight since there were a couple of holidays right before my departure. Based on previous responses, visas from the NY office seem to arrive days before the actual flight.

Potentially Safer Approaches To Airing Grievances:

Anonymous Channels:

• Anonymous posts in expat forums

• Throwaway accounts on Reddit expat communities

• Private expat Facebook groups with verified membership

• Word-of-mouth warnings in expat circles

Factual Documentation Focus:

• Share experiences as "questions" rather than statements

• "Has anyone had experience with refunds from [gym name]?"

• Focus on policy discrepancies rather than accusations

• Share your documentation privately with trusted community members

Additional Options:

1. Official Complaints

• File a complaint with the Thai Consumer Protection Board

• Report to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) if they're a registered training provider

• Contact the Sports Authority of Thailand if they're licensed for Muay Thai training

• Did you contact the Tourist Police?

2. Legal Consultation

• Consult with a Thai lawyer about contract enforcement

• Some may offer free initial consultations for foreigners

3. Payment Dispute

• If paid by credit card, initiate a chargeback through your bank

• Provide documentation of the unfulfilled refund policy
