Friend travelled to Thailand last September, returned home early December, they got a 60day tourist exempt entry then did a 30 day extension at jomtiem. They went home to uk first week December then came back around 18 January and got mega hassle at immigration to the point they thought they weren’t getting let in. Not been in Thailand for 5 years before this so no multiple entries or border bounces etc. the immigration said he returned to quick , luckily he spoke up and told her he was going to travel around. She relented after seeing other friend waiting on him who she wrongly assumed was Thai , Asian but not Thai. Very nerve wracking for him as she says she will put note on his file. He paid 4,000 baht to get 30 day extension no problem. Normally just pay 1900 at immigration.When he return to uk he will not go back to Thailand until September/ October, he is actually considering just going to Philippines or Cambodia where they are more welcoming. You will hear people saying they had no problems, not scaremongering just telling truth . We have heard from at least 10 more people who had the same around the time he entered Thailand. he did it himself the last time but he’s worried what the immigration officer at airport has put in his file. He’s terrified he gets someone that will be as forceful again and maybe refuse 30 days. We read if you get a 7 day leave it looks bad for future visits

so 30 day extension using an agent, then come back September , he flys to Phillipines 5 days after he arrives in September for a family party for a week . Hopefully he has no hassle getting in from uk initially and then again a week later return from Philippines. I will keep my eyes on the posts to keep him updated. Thanks for help

thanks Brandon, in September he will apply for the multi entry retirement visa , however now we are reading that’s having issues as well with agents not able to get bank account etc

My friend who is due to get his second 30 day extension mid March , he got a hard time coming in from uk in January. He was here from sept to dec last year with 30 day extension in jomtiem. We were going to get an agent to do his second 30 day extension as the immigration officer gave him a hard time and said she put a note in his file. After reading this are we right in thinking we should just get an agent to take him on a border bounce , he will be leaving on 10 April as he has ticket to uk . He intends to come back in September 2025 . Until we read this post we were going to use agent for another 30 days extension but this might look bad for him when he returns in September.

this is probably what he is worried about he could not hear clearly what the officer was saying, she questioned where he was going in Thailand and if he will go out etc . He answered honestly and she said get correct visa I put note on your file . This is why we want agent to check file and apply for visa. I think he would be so embarrassed if he got a 7 day notice to leave country put on his passport, thanks for reply

he is a tourist but I can understand that maybe the people you mix with are not as genuine as he is so you might judge him the same .Thanks for your suggestion but hopefully we can get it sorted out for him.

he is a tourist , his partner died and his friends have encouraged him to travel , he is a bit fragile and sensitive. He has never been in trouble with the law in any country and would be nervous of facing another immigration officer with the same attitude and temperament of the one at airport. If we can get an agent that could understand our request, which is ask what has been written on his file, get a 30 day extension for him. This would put his mind at rest. He will go home to uk in mid April then travel to Spain with his son and family for a month then stay out of Thailand until at least September/ October . He likes it here as he has friends here . I can understand why you might think he’s not genuine but I can assure you he is , other friends I have might not be so I can tell the difference. Thanks for your reply. I see a few agent names in the replies so we will approach one of them to ask if they can do what he is asking.
