I used My expat taxes one year and they forgot to file. I had to contact them to do so.

I made one like this. The front is the QR code and the back is the entire visa. I used Canva to upload and design it. Easy peasy.

Try looking at flight paths separately. You can go from Bangkok to Istanbul or Addis and then from there to Heathrow with likely only one layover for under 1,000. Turkish airways from Istanbul to London nonstop is $130. Look at sky scanner.

Port your phone to Google voice (before you leave the US). You don't have to pay a penny after the $20 to port your number. You'll still receive all the verification texts, calls, etc. for free. If you need to make an outbound call, you can add a few dollars to Google voice. I did this like a decade ago and have been all over the world without issue. If you need directions, message me.

Andreas Os hm interesting. My landlord told me her Thai bank account always deducts 200. Maybe because it's your own? Never heard of a bank charging a fee to receive money but what ya gonna do

Yes I get this problem every time I send money to my landlord. I've had to add an extra 200 baht for the bank. I use revolut.

Anonymous participant 905 How long did your approval take? I work in Somalia and applied via the Nairobi embassy online and am curious how the processing may go.

ya that's why I thought this whole thing was weird. I guess arguably I would be spending half my year there. But it seems over the top to make me pay taxes if I'm not a resident and make income outside of the country. But like I said I just want to make sure I don't have problems since I'm going back and forth.
