- my first one was with the 800k in the bank and it was easy at Chon Buri...but since married I decided to do it on basis of marriage because of the reduction in deposited money at 400k or 40k pm.
I didn't realise that they were going to make life so difficult... I've seen comments in the past but until you actually go through it you have no idea how bad it is. IMHO it's pure bullying designed to push you to an agent so they have their greasy paws πΎ tapped. This kind of thing is disgusting π€¬π€¬π€¬
- this is exactly what they want you to do...why not be brave and stand up to them and ask them to justify why they are asking for this or that? They won't be able to give you an answer because they know as we all do they are being instructed to make your life difficult so that you do exactly what you are suggesting...then they win.
I'm not backing down if I get the same treatment as this year next time I WILL lodge a complaint. In fact I'm going to write something out in English and Thai to give them with my next application informing them that I found their approach last application harassment and if I'm treated the same again I'll be lodging a formal complaint. I actually rared up at them when they visited and accused them of harassment, I'm not scared of them! That was when they started banging on about the TM30 not being stapled into the new passport, despite the fact this was shown to them at the office and no one even mentioned it!
It's a complete disgrace and scam... they are no better than the scammers they go on about in Cambodia π€¬π€¬π€¬
- You have also been treated appallingly by the Thai Immigration Bureau and it seems from other people's comments similar unnecessary hassle and request for documents that are totally irrelevant.
I'm 100% certain that those at the very top of each of these offices are instructing their staff to make it difficult so these bent and corrupt government officials get bribe money which is basically what the agents are...in fact a lot of the agents are actually acting illegally such as dummy accounts for the 800k etc.
I'm going to tell them next time that if they ask for anything additional to what is on their list I will be lodging an official complaint. People need to stand up to this outright bullying. I actually Googled it you can lodge a complaint against them in 2 ways one via the tourist police and another through a form of ombudsman. I've already got to the point where I don't care if they try to chuck me out I'll go elsewhere like Vietnam or Cambodia both whom don't treat people this way from what I have read thus far.
I already hate and despise them because I know exactly what it's all about π€¬π€¬π€¬
PS ... sorry to hear about your treatment too... I'm going to be nothing but a pain in the arse to them if it continues...I will simply ask them to explain why they are asking for it as it's irrelevant to my application! π€¬π€¬π€¬π€¬
I have had the exact same treatment at Korat Immigration recently.
Just over 5 hours kept waiting while some IO checked through the paperwork with various runs to the copy people because nothing was good enough (this despite visiting previously and obtaining their list and asking questions and taking 2 copies of everything on the list)... they seemed to be inventing things up and just generally trying to make the process ridiculous and as difficult as possible (see below)... after a lifetime in the Information Office the paperwork was finally taken over to the main office for another IO to check. There we waited...and waited....and waited... again nothing was good enough more requests for further photocopies and more ludicrous requests for other information. It was like a circus act but IMHO a very deliberate and calculated one. It's my view that they are deliberately trying to make your life as difficult as possible...and why?...to force you into using an agent so their greasy paws πΎ can be tapped! I have no doubt whatsoever that is their game.
The areas we encountered issues with were address of wife, they kept banging on about this until I stepped in and told them she was living with me in a rented house and I was on the rental contract therefore it was irrelevant! They then shut up and never mentioned it again. The other issue was the visit...that was disgusting... insisting on 3 witnesses despite the fact we don't know anyone.. and also insisting that we clear our dinner table, put it into the middle of the room and then there was a request to get more chairs meaning I had to get these out of a spare room. This was for the 2 IO to sit down and they insisted that the witnesses sit too (which we only managed to get at a second visit from begging the village headman, these 'witnesses' had never seen us prior to this meeting)...then they tried to be difficult again and started going on about the TM 30...at which I told them they had all this twice the day we submitted it all and I asked them why they didn't bring the paperwork with them...by this stage I was beginning to lose it as I knew what their game was!
To be honest I know they tried to create endless problems and at times I had no idea what was going on or what the problem was...I was seriously thinking of leaving the country at this point... I'm not sure what I'm going to do next time because I seriously don't think I can put up with another renewal like this again. I thought Samut Sakhon was bad but that was a breeze compared to Korat Immigration.
In my opinion it's all about money...or lack of it if you are not using an agent. It's a disgrace. I threatened them with making a complaint when I started to lose it with them and if there is a repeat next time around I'll do exactly that.
- I see, the issue I have is when you go to SCB, show them the notification message you received on their own system, show them a text message you just got from AIS after visiting them confirming your number and details and then the numpty member of staff tells you 'not to worry about it everything's fine' and then low and behold a few days later your app is blocked π€¬
If they had brains they would be dangerous ππ€¬
SCB have just done the same, they claim they are checking phone numbers because of scams and fraud. That's OK but the way they go about things drives you nuts π€¬
Every woman has to be careful no matter where they are...but personally I think you are safer in Thailand than so many western countries. A lot of far east countries are safer it's not just Thailand...but as I said never assume anything ππΌ
