, well the letter they gave me just verified that the account was mine. Maybe when I go back on Monday to get the statement, I’ll ask for another letter verifying that the statements are correct

I like Savannakhet as well. Very easy. I stay over at the casino and they also run a free shuttle back and forth

What issues can expats face with Thai bank accounts, especially regarding large money transfers?

It’s notoriously difficult for a foreigner to send money out of China. I speak from experience. But since I lived in Guangzhou, I used to make regular trips down to Hong Kong where you can send or receive money extremely easily and the transaction is usually completed within 1-2 hours
