Hey just curious, what is your opinion in going to Penang in regards to currency exchange. Get some Malaysian dough here before going, or just wait and get it there ? Also goes for the return trip.
Thanks people !

TLDR : Answer Summary
When traveling to Penang, it is generally advisable to have a small amount of Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) on hand before you arrive, even if it means exchanging at a less favorable rate. This ensures you have cash for immediate needs such as transportation, food, or communication. Many travelers suggest exchanging a modest amount like $20 to $100 USD or its equivalent in your home currency beforehand to avoid issues upon arrival.
I always get $100 Oz dollars even at a bad rate doesn't matter where I travel never know what in store when you arrive but like thai girls say its upto you Chokh di
I personally try to get the equivalent of +/- $20 USD in the currency of the place where am going even at bad exchange rates because I hate to arrive penniless. May need it to make a phone call, get a SIM card, a quick bite, or a taxi. Sometimes is is difficult to find an exchange booth open. Often the better exchange rates are in town, not at the airport, unless is a big airport open 24 hrs. Have a safe travel!
