What are the renewal requirements for a Non-O retirement visa in Thailand?
Ok. So I’m here on my 1 year non-o retirement visa, which will expire in a few months, two documents that I see are “required” are criminal record and $3 million insurance policy. Are these actually required for a renewal. I know last year when I converted my tourist visa to a retirement visa here in country, I didn’t have to have them. I know all my terminology may not be correct, but you what I mean about what is required for renewal. Thanks in advance

an agent can't change you from OA extension to O extension anyways. The only way to do that is to leave Thailand.Brian *******

they won't do it for you u have to leave the country. See agent for advice, they will tell you they can't do it you have to leave the country land boarder reapply.

This is easy. You need exactly what you provided for your one year extension last year, but with new bank letters, and picture.

You're getting confused.
You're looking at requirements for purchasing a non-OA visa at a Thai embassy overseas.
Neither of those are required for a non-O or a non-O extension inside of Thailand.
If you entered Thailand on a non-OA visa then you'd still have the insurance requirement for all future extensions, but if you didn't enter on a non-OA you don't have an insurance requirement.

My guess is that you have the one year Non OA visa rather than a year long Non O.
A Non OA visa requires insurance coverage to renew. A Non O doesn’t.
If indeed you have a Non OA and are on your first year of it you can do a border bounce and enter just before it expires to get a further year or as long as you have medical insurance for.

This “second” year of that visa is not multiple entry so if you want to leave and return you’ll need a single or multiple reentry permit to keep your allowed to stay date alive.

Ok perfect and my flights actually coming back in on september third because I didn't want to chancee that. And it is my understanding that this time I need to get a thai insurance policy. I would like to buy the cheapest Thai policy. I can find since I always have a traveler's policy anyway. Do you offer recommendations on such a policy.Jeannine ***********

Yes you would. However there’s been a few stories of people trying as such only to find their flight delayed and entering past midnight on the day their visa expired only to find that there is no leeway. You enter before it expires and get a year. Or you don’t.

I actually was not going to renew it because people are telling me I need to have a Thai bank account with funds in it in order to renew. I never did that because of the obstacles involved in opening an account. I was under the impression I needed to purchase a Thai insurance policy and then just get a re-entry stamp on my way out of the country. I never did any check ins with immigration because I have not been in Thailand for 90 consecutive days during this whole time.

If you enter Thailand within the validity of that visa you will be stamped in for one year or as long as your insurance coverage lasts which ever is the less. Once the visa expires then you can stay until your latest stamp expires but it’s not multiple entry. If you leave and want to return you’d need a reentry permit to keep that allowed to stay date alive.Terry ********

This is confusing. A year long Non O means you get stamped in on entry for 90 days. You bounce out and in to get your next 90 days. You don’t report to immigration as you can’t be in Thailand for excess of 90 days at a time. If you were stamped in for a full year then you have a Non OA visa -in which case you would need to report to immigration every 90 days.
Can you check the visa stamp in your passport (or PDF file sent to you) to see what it actually says.
