So far there are no changes in immigration and travel restrictions in Thailand from China. ASEAN has set up a live update site which provides regular updates on travel measures and restrictions. Here is the link:

And, also, the extension of stay he is currently on will expire on the 5th. We leave the country on the 6th. Does he still have to cancel it?

Thank you so much Robert. Another question/clarification: yes it is actually on an extension of stay. We need to cancel because my husband will apply for another visa - non-o based on being my dependent but when coming back he will still like to continue taking classes. Does the letter need to state the same (i.e. stopping studying even if he will continue)?

That is absolutely wrong. That is why I am asking this question. I have been told also by my new employer that I do need to cancel my current visa. Grateful if someone with correct answer could advice.
