NON-IMM O VISA CANCELLATION AND PERIOD OF GRACE QUESTION:
I everyone. I am currently on a two-months extension of permit to stay on my non-o dependent visa (linked to my husband visa). I got a job and need to travel out of the country to apply for a new visa (relevant to the job). I know that, to process the new visa I need first to cancel the current one. My questions are the followings:
1 – Given that is a non-imm o dependent visa (based on my husband who is not-Thai), what is the process that I need to follow to get it cancelled i.e.
- Where do I go to get it cancelled?
- What do I need to bring to get it cancelled? I.e. do I need a letter or can I just go there and get it canceled?
2 – What is the grace period given to me before I have to leave the country to apply for a new visa (i.e. do I need to travel out of the country the same day I cancel the visa, or how many days do I have before having to leave the country?)
3 – Any tips on where I can find reliable info related to all of this process?
Thanks!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the cancellation process for their NON-O dependent visa linked to their husband, the required documentation for cancellation, and the grace period allowed before they must leave Thailand to apply for a new visa. Comments clarify that generally, one cannot cancel a visa and suggest the user leave Thailand before their extension of stay expires to apply for a new visa.
