TLDR : Answer Summary
In Bangkok, you can apply for an extension on a Non-Immigrant Type visa when you have three days or less left on your current stamp due to adjustments made for COVID-19. Previously, this period was 45 days.

Seeing as your profile says you're in Bangkok we will go with that premise

In Bangkok you USED to be able to apply for a new extension on a Non-Immigrant Type visa when you had 45 days or less left on your stamp

HOWEVER due to covid concerns out at Chaengwattana Immigration office you can now only apply for an extension when you have THREE days or less left on your current stamp :O

So no you can't extend earlier, in fact the window of opportunity for when you can apply got considerably smaller :(

Oh noooo!!!! I hope they can amend that and that there is a way to do it earlier. 45 days would be great. I am in Bangkok indeed. My daughters extension expires on Oct. 4 but I am desperate to go to Italy. They are extending my own permits and as soon as mine are done I want to extend hers and take a long due trip back to my roots!

I see a trip to the immigration office in your near future to ask if they would make an exception to that.

Right now I have reports that they were turning people away who were a month out, or so from needing to get their extension
