I have flown around the world and no airline has required me to show any vaccine certificate. I'm not sure which airlines are flying that route at the moment but have you tried a non-Australian airline? Like one of the middle Eastern ones maybe?

Refuse any treatments, scans or medicine you don't think you need, as they might just be doing it so they can bill you for it later

my mistake. Ask the airline if a positive PCR test from a few weeks ago is classed as proof of recovery, because they usually are

Also if you have a good travel insurance they provide cancellation cover for medical reasons, quite possibly having COVID is included in this definition

Generally an old positive PCR test from a few weeks ago is considered "proof of recovery". Have you asked the ASQ if they will accept that?
