Can I apply for the Certificate of Entry (COE) under a visa waiver and later switch to a TR visa in Thailand?

I will be visiting Thailand next month. I qualify for the 45 day visa waiver, but was thinking of getting the 2 month TR visa so I can stay longer. I was trying to fill in the COE application today, but it requires me to upload the visa, which I don't yet have. Does anyone know if there will be problems if I get the COE under the visa waiver and then subsequently get a TR visa? Will the original COE still be valid, or will I need to apply for another one?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to visit Thailand and is considering applying for a 2-month TR visa instead of using the 45-day visa waiver. They have encountered an issue with the COE application, which requires a visa upload before they have their TR visa. They are asking if obtaining a TR visa later will affect their already submitted COE based on the initial visa waiver.

Joel, what are you putting down for your reason to leave the UK while overseas travel is still banned? I am looking to return to Thailand ASAP, but I don't know how to get around this.

I'm not currently in the UK so I don't have this problem. However, others have suggested that if you book a viewing with an estate agent and bring proof of this, this counts as a viable reason.

thanks for the heads up, that would work as I plan to buy a small apartment as an investment.

you download the visa application, fill it in and submit to the COE website! plus most importantly is your insurance coverage

thanks for the advice, but I don't think my local consulate do electronic applications (I'm in Bulgaria). I am currently stuck trying to call them to find out what I should do.
